Cinefantastique Post-Mortem: BLACK SWAN and WARRIOR’S WAY

Having delved into the fairy tale world of Walt Disney Pictures’ TANGLED earlier this week, the CFQ Podcast crew returns with a post-mortem detailing the two other genre films now in theatres: BLACK SWAN and THE WARRIORS WAY. The former is Darren Aronofsky’s study of a neurotic ballerina (Natalie Portman), a drama that turns into a horror movie in its third act (think what would happen if Roman Polanski’s REPULSION were mashed up with Dario Argento’s OPERA). The latter is a fantastical, high-flying martial arts Western set in the Old West. So saddle up your horse or slip into your tutu (whatever gets you through the night, kid), and check out the weird and wonderful delights on view.

Plus: Resurrecting Siskel & Ebert; and what is the dividing line between intense drama and full-on horror?
